Itinerary

On arrival in London, make your way from the airport to the hotel (our detailed travel documents will provide you with information on how you can get to the hotel).
You have the rest of the day free to spend as you please. If you arrive early we recommend that you visit the expo today.

Meal: None

Today, we put on our running shoes and head towards the finish line. It is imperative for all runners to be a part of this as we will show you how to return to the hotel with all the race-day road closures. From here, we head to our networking breakfast event where you will have the chance to catch up with fellow runners and compare notes.
Later today, we make our way to ExCel Centre to collect the running bib, if you haven't already done so.

Meal: Breakfast

Get an early start to the day as we start our shake-out run under the shadow of the gigantic London Eye. We run along the Thames and take amazing photos with the Big Ben, heading back. to the hotel in time for breakfast (not included). You have the remainder of the day to explore London. This vibrant and historical city has a vast array of activities and sites to captivate you. We suggest a trip to the London Eye, which is walking distance from your hotel, or maybe a cruise along river Thames?

It is Race Day!
This iconic race is run over a largely flat course around the river Thames, passing the Tower of London. In the penultimate mile, the London Eye comes into view, as do Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. The race ends alongside St. James' Palace, opposite the Buckingham Palace. Enjoy the runners high as we continue the celebrations at the one of London's popular pubs.

Meal: Breakfast, Afterparty

With a medal in the bag and bragging rights galore, it’s time to say good-bye to London. You will need to find your own way to the airport. Or instead, celebrate having run a World Marathon Major with an extended tour of Europe’s wonders!

Room configurations vary, and twin rooms may include one double/queen bed and one single bed rather than two equal-sized beds. Rooms are allocated at random, so bed types cannot be guaranteed. If you prefer more spacious accommodation or additional amenities, we recommend Citadines or Club Quarters Trafalgar Square for the ultimate upgrade.

FAQs

Yes, all of our Abbott World Marathon Majors tours include guaranteed race entry.

There are no qualifying times for the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon but all runners MUST be at least 19 years of age on race day.

There is a 8 hour cut-off for the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon. The 7 hour time limit is based on the gun time for the first wave and not the runners net time. Runners who lag excessively behind the cut-off time pace may be stopped and asked to leave the course at anytime.

As tour operators, we are required to sell the race entry along with accommodation. It will not be possible to buy just the race entry.

Yes, all the World Marathon Majors require that the participants attend the expo in person and collect their bibs. Your travel documents will contain detailed instructions on how to get to and from the expo from your hotel.

If you have booked your sixth and final Abbott World Marathon Majors race, please let us know. We will guide you through the process and ensure you receive your Six Star Finisher Medal at the finish area on race day.

Please contact us if you would like to add extra nights before or after your trip. If you book your additional nights with the hotel directly, please note that you will have to change your room in order to stay in the room allotted to you as part of the group booking for the duration of the trip. Please refrain from requesting us or the hotel reception to allow you to remain in the same room if you book your extra nights through the hotel directly - with the high demand for rooms, such requests will unfortunately have to be automatically declined.

We have several single travellers interested in sharing a room with another traveller and, wherever possible, we try to pair up people who have requested rooms on a twin share basis. However, please keep in mind that this is not a guarantee and in some cases, you might be required to take a single room.

Yes, it is possible for us to organise accommodation for you if you already have the entry or if you are travelling with a non-running companion. However, please note that this will be at the same hotel as the rest of the group travelling on our package.

When we offer multiple hotel options, you have a choice between these options. When we offer only a single hotel for a trip, all travellers stay at that hotel. Unfortunately, we do not offer the option for travellers to stay at any hotels other than the ones we already have on our itinerary. We choose our hotels painstakingly, ensuring that they are well-located and have all the necessary amenities and comforts – we offer only limited options because we like to foster an atmosphere of camaraderie on our trips, and this happens when runners are staying in the same hotels. No, it is not possible to change the hotel. We plan for our marathon group to stay together at a single hotel, therefore, it is not be possible to upgrade hotels as you are part of a group booking. You may, however, request an upgrade in the room type at the same hotel.

We've carefully handpicked our London hotels for their outstanding locations, comfort, and proximity to the London Marathon. With easy access to the start or finish areas, you'll spend less time commuting and more time enjoying race weekend. Choose between our well-appointed 4-star and 3-star hotel options, each offering excellent service, modern amenities, and a comfortable base for your marathon experience.

The 2027 Double TCS London Marathon does not allow runners to transfer their spots to another runner or to defer to another year. If you do not run the race as registered, you lose your entry, and cancellation charges as per the policy will apply.

Active Holiday Company does not offer services for visas and flights. However, we can point you to service providers who offer these services.

When registering for the London Marathon, you'll be asked whether you'd like to receive a finisher medal and finisher T-shirt. There is no additional cost for these items, but you must opt in during the registration process. Only runners who select this option will receive a finisher medal and T-shirt after completing the race.

FINAL PAYMENT

  • Full payment is due on or before 10 Jan 2027.
  • Please ensure you set a reminder on your calendar since we do not follow up for payments individually.
  • Bookings without final payments are auto-cancelled.
  • Race registrations are sent only after we have received your final payment.

TRANSFER & DEFERRAL

  • In the case of a booking with race entry included, your non-refundable deposit is specifically for the trip and the year that you have booked.
  • Unless the rules of the event permit deferral to another year or a transfer to / replacement for another participant with or without a fee, your non-refundable deposit cannot be applied to another event or year, even if Active Holiday Company is the official travel partner for the event. London Marathon payments cannot be deferred to other years, runners, or events.
  • Bookings without race entry included can be transferred as per policy applicable to the booking.

OTHER CONDITIONS

  • All costs exclude GST 5% and 2% TCS
  • All digital payments, including UPI, attract a 3% Platform Fee. Partial payments will be charged the fee to the extend that is paid via the digital platform. To avoid the 3% please arrange a direct bank transfer.
  • Our prices are per person. Even if you have booked a single room for your exclusive use it is mandatory to pay for all your travel companions.
  • The use of any service, including hotel services, by anyone who is not a paid participant is strictly prohibited.
  • Active Holiday Company reserves the right to amend prices if the currency fluctuates more than 5%.
  • Race entry is available only for residents of India (irrespective of their nationality).
  • Entries are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the popularity of this race, we offer priority registration to runners who have run other international races with us before. The tour is offered to new runners after our past runners have taken their entries. 
  • Use and promotion of competitor brands, products and logos - specifially of any company involved in selling marathon trips is strictly prohibited on all Active Holiday Company trips. This can result in your removal from our trip without any refund and refusal on future trips.

  • The cost of flights, visas, passport, insurance is not included in the tour price unless stated otherwise
  • Any meals not mentioned as included are at your own expense
  • Single rooms, optional tours, and extra nights cost extra
  • Arrival and departure transfers are not be included in your tour price
  • Excess baggage, porterage, laundry, phone calls, and alcoholic beverages are considered personal expenses and not included in your tour price
  • GST, VAT, and other taxes as applicable in India are additional to the tour price

Wonderful Experience with Gauri and the Team

Extraordinary experience

Cape Town Marathon was just amazing. You couldn’t have asked for better weather, a fabulous picturesque route, incredible community support and superb arrangements. The energy throughout the course was electrifying and every stretch offered breathtaking views. The volunteers, spectators and fellow runners made the entire experience truly memorable. And when it comes to Active Holidays, Gauri and her team never settle for anything less than perfect. From the excellent hotel stay — just 500 meters from the start line for me — to the wonderful get-together with fellow runners, the city tour, partial route recce, pre-race lunch and post-race dinner, everything was thoughtfully planned and exceptionally well managed.
